LIDICKER 1976 Aug. 29 cont. 10 sh. i forest - 1 C.r. (nighttime) 10 sh. in grove - nothing Track along field road: W2L-10 nets - 5 Mx, 1 C.r. (mostly eaten) + 1 Gray Jay. JOW-10 net traps - 2 Mx Lead 5 net days (W2L) about 1/2 mi. further S.: 1 C.r. & 1 small trap. Finished Dicking off traps at 1025. Then we went back to comp to jack up. Left ~ 1130. When we went by the grid we stopped to take photos. 2 foxes on grid. Weather has been clear & mild during whole stay, although rain squalls have been seen frequently in the distance. Yesterday evening + early this AM a jacket was needed. Birds seen in the Horse Creek area: Raven - many Gray Jay - many Boreal Chickadee S.P.C. junco Myrtle Warbler Rusty Blackbird-1 (Liversol) head woodpecker twice but saw none Varied Thrush - 2 Red-legg'd Hawk-1 (dth. Harlan's Hawk Red St. Hawk-1 (all told, rough 1st lighter than other & 2nd lighter ventral bag thinng) Sh...sh. Hawk -1 Tree Sparrow -1 Redpoll?-3 On way back to Fairlands we went through rain showers starting in Liversol.. Stopped 1 going on way so Jerry could fix his rifle & adjust the sights. Got $6 worth of gas at station 4 mi. W.N. Liversol.
