our new grid at 27.8 mi. (1935), Q had 4 M.X, 2
male were released + 2 kept 1 cd. & 1 adult. \&.

The latter 2 were killed for autopsying. Jerry had 1 cd. &
M.X (killed for autopsy) + 1 C.V (caught at 1940+
released). The 5 net traps had 1 cd. & M.X.

Checked grid 1950-20/10. Caught 1 male ad &
which we had not yet caught this trip. Also checked
around line 10 to S. Returned to camp.
Turned in about 2200.
Aug 29
Got up 0650 + had breakfast. Picked up grid 0800-
0850 including around line. Caught 21 mice on grid.
2 10 S2. on nearby spring knoll had 2 Mx, 1 M.O +
1 Mustela erminea. The weasel smelled like a wild
stink. We let it go so as to not interfere with the
study area. 2 Jerry's net traps near the knoll, then were
2 M.X.
0920 - picked up traps at 27.8 mi.. On the 3 Sh. remaining
& the 5 rat, then were 3 MX, all individually & we released.
The 5 rat traps were empty although 3 were strong. On
Jerry 4, 1 running 5 Sh., was 1 C.V. (released).
At 26.2 mi. traps: W2C - 4 Sh. - nothing
Jow- 5 Sh. - 1 M.O (aw pan) + 1 C.V.
#3529 -> (released); the minks was caught but both died)
At the 27 mi. under - 4 Sh. traps - nothing
0945 - 27.5 mi.: 10 rats - 2 Mx (including #1068)
4 add. traps were spraying.
