L10, crx 1967 + 1968 (May 28 cont.) I drove N to Occidental where we had lunch in the Union Hotel. Then we continued to Monte Rio on the Russian R. We were impressed with the sharp transition between the groved Brush Edits (scattered clumps of trees in places), & the Douglas Fir forests which start just N of Ferndale. We returned to Occidental, then to Gueron, Sebastopol & on to US 101 at Cotati, & the Low. Arrived about 1645. Along the ridge above (cont.) Drake's Estero we found several active Aphiadontia burrows with cuttings etc. They were in the thick brushy vegetation on the N faces of the ridges. Inverness Peromyscus trip with Wayne C.
