Dec. 17 cont.
There was too much wind to have quite the confidence of catching a pair of Microros.
After dinner we discussed coming up over our trip lines about 1130-1200. Catch - nothing.
Dec. 18
Got my 0645 & checked on traps. Catch - NOTHING!
So we left on trap out. I moved 3 of the 6 J hook in the brush over to the edge of a swampy area with tall reeds & definite fowl Microros signs. Then Roy & I set out a box of 25 longwithe trap along the edge of this swampy area. Almost all of them were set in muckings. All these traps plus the ones I set last night were baited with mixed seed with a little peanut butter mixed in. Then we discussed coming up early morning.
About 12-12:30 we packed up our camp. Finally we picked up our trip lines. Dave Krohn had 1 Microros. All the rest of us caught nothing. So a few more Microros sightings were in or on the traps. We finally got on the road about 1330.
