LIDICKER 1974 Dec. 13 cont. Barongius or Grayshanks. In my study line I had 3 D'jokongs, 2 Barons + 1 Baricwhites, Since all traps were full, I decided on the ender line. Birds seen between mountains and near camp included: Sterling, Mt. Bluebird, Horned Lark (50+), Rest of Red-t. Hawk, W. King bird, Meadowlarks in camp: Wh. crowned Sparrow, Cat: f. Quail? Dec. 14 Got up at 6.45 and could hear the surf at the ocean. The air was very damp and there was a thin fog. The sound blazes. Picked up my remaining trip lines but only 1 obtained Barongians. After breakfast we procced to animals to Ancho camp about 1300. Birds seen and camp: Dudee's Walker - 15+ Wh. cr. Sparrow - sev. Brown Tanager - sev. Mt. Bluebird - sev. I still think there must be a large species of chilo it is really one if we did not catch any. Then back to the main road and then N. to the jet with the rd. to San Telmo, Mileage from camp to San Telmo de Alajo in about 4½ mi. On the rd. to San Telmo we noticed an area of spike grass a wildcat 4.8 mi. from th stream. 11.8 mi. beyond San Telmo is the road to Mike's Sky Ranch. We continued on toward the Meling Ranch.
