At about 14:00 we had lunch & then set out to cut traps. Dave B, Dave K, Bob K & B. Sieng took the car back toward Manadero to set in edge of cultivated fields. The rest I set and camp. I set 34 leg coll Shrews in a small 2 shallow arroyos running to bluff. On the first 2 feet 18 traps filled with mixed seeds. This arroyo was filled with brush with lots of Cueva o zea grass. Nestamine sign was abundant. Also saw Sylvi/lyreus droppings & locally Microtus as well. The next gulch was slightly wastier & had one pond of water & a few clumps of a Phragmites-like grass. Set 16 traps here located with seed mixture mixed with desert litter. Definite Microtus sign here including foot gnawish droppings.
