LIDICKER 1974 11 Dec cont. hrs seen. Then with Beth E, we went? near dusk (4 pm) under some spiky grass with Sadie; can't see rather than District: 1/5 and her. Her in new micrometers cutting a few gardening runnings. At dusk total Cost - 2 + 1:11 hrs seen. After dinner, wrote notes + discussed plans for next few days. This locality we are calling Mount Arroyo Martinez (although our maps are antiquated as to whether this is the correct name), 22 mi. NW Ensenada. Total of 146 days out. Dec. 12 Up at 0645 - cold & windy. Chilled traps. Caught 1 Re: Rhodanthea? spargelii in my very first trap. Nothing else we caught by anyone in our group. Beth & I left out our traps plus until after breakfast. On returning from the trap check, I found a good micrometer running in Salsiccia as I moved on trap from my line to this spot. After breakfast I fielded my traps + we loaded truck + Dave Bradford's car. Birds seen: 1 canary warbler Cost - con. Con. Raven unident. gulls W. Meadowlark (singing) L. t. Mew Warbler wh-er. Sparrow? sw. Eared Grebe - 1 Pied H. Grebe - 1? Red-rumped Others went to track a new plot of other species. Drove our old highway to Ensenada. Legs camp at 0915 when highway crosses Arroyo Martinez thru an open marsh including some cattails & a large patch of spike grass. This should be a good place for birds. At Ensenada, we stopped off for some groceries
