LIDICKEN 1965 (June 26 cont.) Spotted Hawk Ring 18. W Calif. type gulls. 40 miles E of Hinsdale we saw our first Black-billed magpie for the trip west. 13 miles before Malta we saw a Bronzewing. At the Bandon Lake Wildlife Refuge we saw: Belding's Vireo Blue-winged Teal Gadwall Mallard Wilson's Phalarope Yellow-footed Gull Dark-browed Ring-billed Gull Pintail Canvasback Redhead C. Kingbird. Lesser Scaup Franklin's Gull Harlequin Duck Red-Phalarope Brewer's Blackbird Mallard 13 miles just before we found a large (10") Jawed Turtle that had been hit by a car. Also saw a DOE Yellow-Spotted Flicker. Rain on + off most of afternoon. Continued on to Skelly where we spent the night.
