march 12 cont.
Lerwick is time for dinner, Helen went back to
the lab to pack gear, & I wrote a few notes. Then
we went to the home of the local priest - O'Riordan
for a social visit. Also there were Mr & Mrs Prins of
Beth. Mr. Prins lectures widely on art & had come to
Lerwick at the invitation of the Local Arts Council
& lectured Sat evening. We got back to hotel about
2330.
march 13
Checked out of hotel; went to school to pack up
gear & specimens. Then went to Scelbury to get
heliotrop out of freezer. Mrs Robertson (Maryden)
treated us to coffee. Returned to Lerwick for lunch
with a shopping; checked in car, & got coach to
airport at Sumburgh (at 1205). Plane to Orkney
left at 1355. It was a beautiful sunny day!
By 1530 we were checked into the Kirkwall Hotel
in Kirkwall.

Fulmar - 100t - some sitting on nest sites but to egg yet.
