LIDICKEN 1965 (20 June cont.) 9th Amer. Soc. of Mammologists was to be held. So far we traveled 2292 miles. June 21-23 ASM meetings - Fort Barry Hotel. June 24 Went on field trip to the Delta Waterfowl Refuge. Saw very few ducks. Noted: Purple Martins Long-billed Marsh Wren Sora Rail Forster's Tern Killdeer W. Kingbird E. Kingbird Yellow Warbler Black Terns Cathairal (see attached checklist for other bird species seen in Manitoba.) We returned to Winnipeg about 5:30 pm. and by 6pm we were on the road to the south (Manit., 75). Dr Emerson, just above the U.S. Border, we camped for the night; it was warm & very insectary, but our tent provided a haven. While at Delta we also saw the pen of captive Trumpeter Swans & heard of egg that they have there.
