LIDICKEN 1971 From bird list cont. Scattered individuals throughout trip. Osprey - 1 Camargue Marsh Harrier - 10+ (incl. at least 1?) - Camargue Kestrel - 2 Camargue + many other seen throughout trip. Coot - 250+ Camargue (not generally distributed, but restricted to N. reaches of Camargue) Lapwing - common in NW France Ringed Plover - 40+ Camargue Redshank - 5 Camargue Dunlin - 1+ Calidris sp. - Little or Temminck's Stint (both). Little seemed to have dark legs) - 60+ Gt. Bkt. Bk. Dull - 1 Camargue Lesser Bkt. Bk. Gull - 10+ (months quite pale) - Camargue. Herring Gull - 40+ Camargue + some in Eng. Channel Bkt.-Lesser Gull - 2000+ in Camargue; also seen throughout trip. Rock Dove - + Wood Pigeon - 1 Camargue Owl - 1 resident, seen after dark in Camargue - probably Tawny 1 Bkt. Little Owl at Dolgue (Oct.28) Hoopoe - 1 at Dolgue, + 1 vic. Montelimar (Oct.24) Crested Lark - 4 (Camargue) Tree Pigeon - 20+ ( ) White Wagtail - 1 Camargue + some others Starling - seen freq. Magpie - seen commonly incl. Camargue
