DICKER
1971
23 Oct.
Took Hovercraft at 1000 to Boulogne, driving
to Fontainebleau that night, by-passing Paris to
west & going through Senlis, Meaux & Melun. Short
of Beauvais, the car started to [illegible] misbehave, acting
though there was a clog in the carburetter - causing
trouble at speeds under 50 mph. Stayed that night in the
Hotel Napoleon.
24 Oct.
Cut over to the Autoroute & continued South.
At 13 mi. N Mâcon we stopped for a break & noticed
a microscopic outbreak along the road. We even found
a dead owl lying in a runway. It was too rotten to
save but took the skull. Several photos taken of us.
Turned off Autoroute at Bollevin turnoff. At Bayard
took the road to Ales & from there S. toward Martillac,
but turning W again to Quissac. The S on D45 about
12 km. to turn off to Claret. Claret is about 2 km. from
the jet. Proceeding through town we turned S. on the road
marked to Mas Blanc & in another 2 km. came to
Dolgue, the old house where Larry & Anne [illegible]
live. We arrived about 2030.
25 Oct.
Took car to mechanic at Claret who easily cleared
out a valve in the carburetter causing all our trouble.
Went shopping & to bank at Quissac, postal, &
exhibited around Dolgue.
