LIBRER 1571 5.20. 18 cont. I went for a long walk to the South I did while we were waiting for Terry Davies to arrive at the inn. I also took quite a few photos. It was a little windy & a bit hazy, especially early in the morning, but still sunny & we were optimistic that Terry would come. Some birds seen: Stock Dove - 2 Carrion Crow - 6+ Jackdaw - 2 Oryg. thrush - catch - 2 Pied Flycatcher - 1 Wren - 1, Shallow - saw. Raven - 1 K: Hirundo - 300+ Gannet - few Skylark - saw. Winchat - 2 Spotted Flycatcher - 1 Whinchat - 1 Chough - 2 (the pair led home around 4 o'clock, but this was the first time I saw them). I got excellent views on 3 occasions; watched the forage from rock out crop to next crop, feeding the crocker with their long curved, red bills; they must be specialized feeders). But had to conform for coffee at 11:00. Barry showed me a lame young Stormy Petrel which he took from a nest in a rocky rock wall. Terry finally came at about 11:40. The tide was low but he came into South Haven. He finished off about 11:50, & after a much more pleasant journey back arrived at Mont. Isolation at 12:45. On route saw few new Bernett's crow species: 2 Sandwich Terns, 1 Chough, 1 Longwing, 1 Raven. At 13:00, we headed for the Lobster Pot & metres for lunch.
