DICKER 1971 Sept. 15 Overcast but warm day; some sun - late afternoon & evening. Mike checked traps on the Neck before breakfast & caught 8 more mice. Afterwards we took in the morning 19 traps at Drake's Rocks; caught only 2 from them. The N cliff traps produced 6, all traps and the low-ridings 7. An extra trap I trapped yesterday was found with a live mouse (a really weird one). This gave a grand total of 24. We worked on the mice until 1800 finishing the cell & bringing our total to 99 for caught. After dinner we went to Spy Rock and set 30 traps (I set 15 N there - 10 on Spy Rock & 5 along adjacent cliffs). This left us about 14 dark un-set. Saw a gray seal (probably a 7) while we were setting traps near Spy Rock. There are more migratory birds around today than yesterday, and cliff-cliffs particularly were seen. I caught 2 of the latter in a large funnel bird trap for Barry to ring. Other birds seen I note: Pied Flycatcher - seen (I also detected that gentleman on sea yesterday with it) 5 Spotless Flycatcher - 1 Garden Warbler - seen (with Barry had one) Black-cap - saw Barry had one only Sedge-catcher - saw Barry had one only Mallard - 2 Crested Tit - lost 3 Thrushes - 1
