LIDICKEN 1965 (June 19 cont.) Sask., when we stayed overnight in a motel. Scattered rain throughout the day. June 20 Looked and noted: AM before leaving and again. Saw: Baldwin Orioles house wren song sparrow Chap-calied Sparrow - 1? Grasshopper Sparrow - landing Black tern Least flycatcher E. Larkspid. var. with song heard. Cont. on highway 1 to Winnipeg. From about Regina on scrubby clumps of aspen & Birch begin to offer on the prairies. These clumps get gradually less scrubbly at 10 mi. & in noon time we saw a few conifers begin to appear among the gray briches & about that time we also saw a few white birches. 7 miles before highway 1 junction with Main 34 we stopped & had lunch along the side of the road. Here we saw Jackdaws hunting, gopher squirrels & a 13-lined ground squirrel. We arrived in Winnipeg State in the afternoon & went to the Fort Garry Hotel when the next trip
