Aug. 31 cont.
meal + 9 St. along side of bluff = 46 ducks.
Augusta set 25 L. on NW side N old grid
+ 5 St. on grid = 30 duck. I saw - by chute
Thorough's elongous S.N on old grid. It was the
only one seen by me during the afternoon. By the
time we were finished setting, I had caught 2
m.c. and Augusta 2 also. These were all picked up
and brought back with us. One of the ones I caught
was thus found to - broken trap at the grid deposited
in the same place. Lepsa Dashed ~1700. It was
still sunny & warm so we increased vole
activity by this time suggested to me then best
to go to a few rice area.
Blanford told me that he had frozen over
20 nets during the year & a few "field rice" as
well. Blanford has been fishing geese, a variable
number arriving, but repeatedly they had a peak number
of 14.
