LIDICKEN 1970 28 Much cost. more damage - this could be definitely attributable to rats. Blanford says that a few months ago a state public health official trapped about 30 rats & was searching them for fleas; no fleas found. Lugo School ~ 11/45. This time we took Louis Baptista out with us (instead of A. Kuhn) & he recorded songs of W.H. co. Spencer. When we got back to LSB, we went through live individuals & picked out 10 cd. ♀♀ + 10 cd. ♂♂ for Ayako, & killed the rest. Many of the 10 cd. ♀♀ were obviously pregnant. (of the 10 ♀♀ Ayako had only 2 litters were counted since the other was nested with 8♂ the previously stolen male they were from. The 2 surviving litters did not look ed & present. They have litters of 5 + 6 + we all agree.) Sagelun Creek Field Sta. Jul 31 - Aug. 2 Went to Station to work with Sheila Byrne who is beginning MA thesis project on Eutamias. On Aug. 1, walked to Independence Lake & back before lunch - very nice excursion. On am of Aug. 2 went to Dan Taylor's Beaver study area about 3 mi. above the station on a tributary of Seycham
