Mered 27 cont. When we arrived on the island we saw a baby from garter snake coming down the road carrying a egg. Microtars which it had by the hand. When we grabbed the snake to examine the same, he dropped it. He carried the house which was injured around the head but alive. It died later in a live trap (specimen no. 1449). Later Yon L. found another snake with a microtars. This one was caught also (no. 1448). Snakes have been abundantly and very active. Several were seen drinking at the spring (N ward of W beach). Before finishing setting up traps on W beach Los caught a house in a trap trap (a BUFFY), no. 1447. The vegetation was a common level that had covered the road for this time of year. Dog's grass and some on the N S. beach was already yellow, and in other areas the grasses were looked out. Also the buckeye trees were badly hurt with 1 of the 2 down the C spring Johnny road. In general the ground to be much less in the way of wildflowers blooming than is normal for this time. Blanford is currently hard-spraying Johnson oak and Rhus hardly to get rid of them. Numerous phloxants are once a head again, a quite a few Colts. Quail. A few Bob-whites were heard singing as well. In addition to the snakes a few
