Then US 10 to Coeur d'Alene, Ida. where
we spent the night at the Leducier Motel.
Rain almost all day a most of it hard.
June 18
Went N on US 95 to Brit. Columbia border
at Eastport. Just S of Eastport we looked
at a DOR grave (swampy type). B.C. 95 to
BC. 3 at the coast to Alberta. Along the Kootenay
R. we saw a snake sitting on a fence post.
2 Alberta we continued on Highway 3 to
Medicine Hat where we spent the night at the
Trans-Canada Motel. Rained just of the day,
especially latter half.
June 19
Cont. E on highway 1. 4 mi. W of Walsh, Alta.,
we saw 8 frogmouths (not in 1 spot but
scattered over sev. miles), also saw 2 littletoes
& 2 common terns. Near Piapot, Sask., we
saw 3 more frogmouths. 7 mi. W of Caronport,
Sask. we stopped to examine a DOR foregnipe
& saw the skull (# 2916 ); this was the
second one seen, the first being in W. Sask.
Caronport is about 13 mi by road W. of
Moosomin. The habitat photos were taken when
the foreignpie was found. Went a for to
Moosomin (Cree word for crossing of the trail),
