Gwen designs. Payer a set for $3.40. Delivered some blood serum to the Melody Hospital for Hardy Copes & came back. More packing afterwards & talked to Gwen. Jared Diamond also came back from a month on Mt. Albert Edward in Papua. For dinner we had a visit from Mr. Win Filewood of the Dept. of Agrie, Stock & Fisheries - Pt Morsby. He is in the fisheries branch, but is an avid bird watcher & also interested in mammals. He offered to jointly co-ordinate mammal projects in the future. Finished packing just in evening.

Jared came in with me to the airport; the plane was scheduled to leave at 0845 & actually got away close 0900. The Crawford Expedition's were on the same plane. The Fiji star's are spectacular as usual. It was raining in Los Angeles. Arrived - Pt Morsby close 1130. Ken Lamb was there to meet me. Also saw briefly Lord (Sc: Thorn) Melbury, from Phil Qnint & Robin Bauer at the airport as they were on their way to Milne Bay. Also met Mr. Davies at the airport who is with Agrie. Dept. & who I have corresponded with. He is interested : crocodiles & wallabies. Ken Lamb took me to his home for lunch & then to the Univ. Where I met Dr. Jim E. Menzies of the B:al. Dept. who is interested in mammals. We talked he showed me around the Univ. Then we drove to the
