Jared Diamond also came back from a month on Mt. Albert Edward in Papua. For dinner we had a visit from Mr. Win Filewood of the Dept. of Agrie, Stock & Fisheries - Pt Morsby. He is in the fisheries branch, but is an avid bird watcher & also interested in mammals. He offered to jointly co-ordinate mammal projects in the future. Finished packing just in evening. Aug 27 Jared came in with me to the airport; the plane was scheduled to leave at 0845 & actually got away close 0900. The Crawford Expedition's were on the same plane. The Fiji star's are spectacular as usual. It was raining in Los Angeles. Arrived - Pt Morsby close 1130. Ken Lamb was there to meet me.
