LIDICKER 1969. Aug. 21 cont. 7 mi. W, 3 mi. S Maling. The earlier cave we are calling South Bangy Cave (6 1/2 mi. S, 4 1/2 mi. W Maling) to distinguish it from the Bangy Cave we were in yesterday. Tunnel cave has a very high roof & we shot 3 Hippo's, lem calcaratus, 3 H. galeridus, + 1 H. dieckman from life on the cave roof. Then are also a few Dolomites i th cave, family both miror + vulcanensis. S. Bangy Cave also had 1 or 2 Collicola flying in it. We returned to Maling about noon. After lunch (7 am) went into Maling to the Sefik Curio shop. We had arranged with the owner to show us through his warehouse starting at 1300. We bought lots of stuff, mainly Wilson + Savile kid. Picked up some equipment at the airport on the way down. Back at Maling we packed up the artifacts for putting on the ship, packed a crate with skins tools etc, + also printed packing one of the specimen charts. Lots of gear was carried on the ship. Stained several hats from the morning's trip. Total ~ 2300.
