Aug. 17 cont.
a distinct species from sericans . The latter has
a smaller P4 + looks P3. the body I came of skull
with a rotatis P4 + clear lacking P3. P. sericans
also has a darker trail & appears different in other
respects. It sounds convincing. This sericans skulls
teg out is on key to rotatis . To look about 2315.
Aug. 18
Up at 0625, finished packing, had breakfast & left
0715 for Mt. Hogan. Ties lot me use his truck &
packed a drawer. We got to Mt. Hogan airport
about 0915. Left most of our gear there & the rest
to Steamskit Co. where we left our insulated
box of frozen material in their walk-in freezer
(Tas wrote us a letter to Mr. Peter Clifford of the
freeze dept. to get permission). Then we wandered
around town, went to bank, post-office, curio
shop. Sat on a lawn & worked up notes. At
even we returned our specimens from the freezer
& carried them to the Anssett Office. Then we
looked for the Hotel where Dawson said he
might meet us for lunch. We finally found it
had lunch (to sign of Dawson) & we walked back
to Ansett about 1300. The flight left pretty
delayed ; it was a cargo plane coming up from Friday.
About 1515 the airboatman finally took us to the
airport . Arrived at 1615 & we finally got away
