LIDICKER 1969 We to him arranged to have someone meet me. About 1030, the ranger of Tigi Plantation when Silly saw is arrived to meet Ferguson. I continued to wait at the airport. About 1330 Ferguson Mark came back to see if I was still there, having completed their chores in town. At about 1400 he decided Ross was coming so with Mark's help we arranged for a private mission plane to fly me to Baiger River. We carried my gear to the mission hangar and found the pilot. He said he had one other flight to make so he would be back - about an hour. Mark & Ferguson took off for Tigi & I waited some more. About 1515 the plane returned & we looked on my gear. The pilot charged me $10 for the flight. He disappeared on his other route for about 15 min., & then he finally took off about 1540. It was a very interesting flight over the Waghi Divide & down into the Baiger R. valley. He landed on the Baiger R. strip, or piloted my cargo on the grass, & the pilot took off again. I grabbed my 7mm by a binoculars & looked for the Aginc. Site. over the airstrip to see if I could find any way to get to our Baiger R. field party. I finally contacted a Mr. McGrange who was kind enough to have one of his crop drives in the 6+ mi. to the Halathorn Bird Sanctuary. I arrived there at w 1700 & met Dianne George, manager of the sanctuary. He gave me something to eat & drink, which was very welcome.
