erson striped rat collected Rhabdomys pumilio Subfam.-Murinae Fam. - Muridae Superfam- Muroidea Suborder - MYOMORPHA Order - RODENTIA Example - KM- 71894, 19 June 1941, Citrusdal, C.P, Geldenhuis, 118, 107, 25, 14 Desc- Head - a gringly brownish straw color, white behind ears, ears cinnamon, throat a whitish grey, nose with a faint stripe running up to top of head. Body - 4 longitudinal brownish cinnamon stripes, 3 whitish grey stripes in between, sides a gringled grey brown mixture, whitish grey below, a buffy spot on chest. Tail - as long as body, black on top, light brown below on basal half. Feet - forefeet with 4 toes with claws, a fifth for balancing inner side of foot, with a short claw. Legs color of body. Hindfeet - 5 toes with claws, 5th toe short, 3 middle toes largest. Rhabdomys pumilio griseus KM- 5694 ?, 20 May 1942, Commonage, Kimberly C.P., Arends, no measurements, Desc - same as R. P. only sides with a rusty hue feet cinnamon above, stripes closer together than R. P. lighter below, skin under legs buffish yellow.
