Tom Larson Single-striped Rat above other 3 long toes, claws longer than toes of front feet. Buffish short hairs on foot and toes. Mammae - 8 (4 pect. 4 ing.) Lemniscomys griselda subtilata KM-4211 ♀, 11 June 29, Sanukony Village, Grootfontein Dist., S.W. Afr, 1100m, Shortridge, 140, 150, 28, 17. Desc - black stripe from neck to rump, brown with a ruffan stripe above, monogiggled brown on head and shoulders, ears cinnamon, tail black above, light below, feet light brown, white below, tail as long as body. Lemniscomys g. spinalis KM-10905 ♀, 8 Sept. 1945, Rustenburg, Transvaal, Geldenbuys, 118, 112, 25, 16. Desc - above black stripe from head to tail, goggled brown above with cinnamon tinge on rump, darker than L.g. subtilata, white below, hairs with slate grey bases, ears cinnamon.
