Muridae Super fam - Myomorpha- Muridea Sub Order - MYOMORPHA Order - RODENTIA EXAMPLE - KM-12517 ♂, 9 Dec. 1946 St Marks W. Queens town, C.P. Geldenhuys 79, 43, 18, 21 Description Head - white throat and lower cheeks, mottled dark brown on top of head and nose, fawn cheeks, ears dark with greyish tip inside. Body - dark brown to black shoulders and middle back, mottled lower back of dark brown and fawny brown, sides a fawny brown, white below Tail - less than 1/2 length of body, brown, blunt hairs Fore feet - 5 toes, 1st inostegial, 4 with claws, feet ting, whitish. Hind Feet - 4 toes with claws, very delicate, light color (whitish brown). Malacothrix t. egerio EX. KM. 2771, 27 May 1933, Ondongo, Ovamboland, S.W.Afr. Forrie, no measurements - smaller than M.t. Pale whitish fawn above with a light faded black streak down back and 2 faded black spots on each side of strips in middle of back, below white; tail light and feet.
