Otomys irroratus (melano) Example specimen - KM-8385 ♀, 13 Dec, 1940, Elands Bay, C.P. Geldenhuy's HB-175, T1-108, HF-30, Ear-22, Dark black above, lighter black below, tail black. Otomys trige! orsis saundersiae Example specimen - KM-14682 ♀, 9 Oct. 1948, Ovinway Farm, Albany Dist. C.P. 2200'-2800' Shortridge-Macaulay, HB-152, T1.103 HF-28 Ear-21 Description - Slightly lighter brown than O.i., difference in skull's not seen. Otomys robertoi KM-11139 ♀, 31 Jan. 1946, Lady Grey, C.P., 5260-7500', Shortridge, 150, 85, 26.5, 18. Desc - Black above, grey black below, feet and tail and ears black, hair bases dark slate grey, sniddles of hair or toward tip a light brown, tips black or guard hairs black; th dark slate grey hair bases gives overall black appearance.
