Description -
Head - sandy brown from nose to back, pale
brown on cheeks, around eyes, below white,
ears dark brown, pale brown at base.
Body - sandy brown above, paler on side,
white below!
Tail - Longer than body brown above, paler
brown below or white, tail with numerous
short hairs so rings not visible.
Front feet and legs - short, 5 toes with claws,
1st toe vestigial claw vestigial, middle claw longest,
feet white.
Hind feet and legs - legs very long, feet
long and white, pale brown, 5 toes with
claws, toe no. 1 and 5 vestigial, short claws.
KM-12679 - Ngamiland - a darker gerbil
of same species.
