Rhinolophidae Super family - Rhinolophoidea Suborder - MICROCHIROPTERA Order - CHIROPTERA Example specimen - KWT Mus. 274, 20 Oct.36 ?, G.C.Shortridge, Orrelgat Cave, Kap-Kap Farm, 25 miles East of Witwater, Namaqualand, C.P. Description Head - light soft-brown fur on head and face. Above nose a membranous growth, coming to a sharp point at upper apex. Ears large, leaflike, coming to a point, veins running vertically. Body - medium brown, fur long and soft, below brown slightly longer. Hind feet - 5 digits, 5 Claws, feet brown, membrane attached to legs as far as ankle. Tail - about 1/2" long, very thin, enclosed completely in membrane. Wings - 1a dark brown, a short digit with a claw at elbow. Rhinolophus denti periensis EX. Spec. KM-1759 27, 30 Sept.1931, King williamstown, turn bull, 46, 20, 7, 17. Desc - smaller than R. Capensis, medium brown above, paler brown below.
