Vegan seemed intent on conservation; intended to hold broadleaf fruit &
it's big trees. Planned to plant beans & coffee & pines. Said had
watched all life to develop this place, a wide valley facing SE. Named Fee.
Mister de Moran (area llamado de Morgot on map). Trail to El Zanco

15 May 1978. Monday. More people arrived. One man to look for
plywood-sliced tree & identify others (arm. Modernos in Molelos
mrs. Baranera). Cile looked for salamanders. I & she went with 5
men to look at tree bricks in matatua, afost. Descended to lower

well in fact as undergrowth thin. We wandered about & had
difficulty finding trail back. In about 3 hours in front, saw a
beard almost no birds. Much less lively than Ue. del Moro. The
man said no codo de matu bee, portegir, but palma, arve,
dillo, pirote, garnero, corom, tepicantle. Said a rattlesnake kill
ed nearby recently & used for medicine. At elsewhere, said both snake&
salamander poisonous. Many biting gamador; my ears would
ear from bites. I back to ranch house & rest. Cile had taken about
30 salamanders (FSK catalog). I put out 15 snip traps near logs &
holes at edge front, & set 1 net near stream. No rain.
16 May 1978. Tuesday. My traps took 2 big Peramegnum ofani
birds or at Chilanco; drink fare & refound chest. Described. One
sternia in net (spec.). I helped Cile search for salamanders;
we got about 40 in 4 hours. At one point, only on 2 in an hour.
