my garden 1.75' for 3 bed room. Over trees flowering gsp 1-4;
saw uniform light gray in dusk. Sp? 30+ meters? rickly;
glides north; wings prominent near body. Canidij & smaller
black-tailed (Dicr? ) in town. food vigorous. Thrush notes in
trees; new song fish for roarin & then up, in snow withers.
12 March 1978. Sunday. We had heard of Domingo Torres newly from
Chojil, on road N. of Tucuru'. Left gov in town & walked about 2 hrs
downroad to side road to Favia Dos Esperanza. Olibon, huge
logwood tree (Epiblema?), along road. Fort ruins, 5-10 m. circle
stands apart F. San Francisco; coffee bushes in flower & a
beneficio. Parry road up, saw new 6 propeller, about 40 nests
in an large sycamore (platan?). Saw Catoploza niter. Saw
large Monstera in either (?) the dry road. Brown Aqueledendro:
Brown jays noisy. Saw 3 swallow-tailed kite in air over
steep slope. Aspected food snake in road banks, only about
2000'. Cestrum aurifume. Sp? of gallinule in orange flower.
Up about 2 hrs. slow hike up, to about 2700', came to Favia
Esperanza hedquater; garden, leichloma, flowers, burning
tinder. Talked w. administrador - Herrera (sp?). Seemed friendly
& hospitable to return visit. Planted Eucalyptus; some offuzzly
red flowered bird: Tapjaws E. had about 6 Vistonia gabelula,
♂ & ♀ in Pterogyn sulphurea in garden. Many Pterogyna flying about,
noisily, Amazilia - Rufescent-tail, red bill w. black tip. First
line about 200' vertically above, to S W. Citrus fruits + coffee
bushes (in flower). Istemum mesomeloides. A large jay w.
black head (Aralopha m.?). Aspected wood thrush in citrus
orchard intertw with (round distinct breast spot; white eye ring).
