5 March 1978. 5 km NE Chilasco, B. Vazquez, Grotum. on the w 6" Blower. Saw 1 Semier on ground. We have been turning over logs, branches, etc. daily w/o finding lizards or salamanders there. One boy claims to have once found 20 rinos dormitos near Favia Miranda. / 0430 raining but bright. / 1100-3 hummers in net; one w. white < behind eye (see lab prev. p.), one w. diagonal white line behind eye + refours under area, one w. refours wings + brider gageit (Koda). / EJ photographed Quetzal; saw 7, 9, jay. in open tree above bush, 100m S. of house (croak-like calls). / Overcast continued all day w. occasional light rain. Took 2 of the refours-winged hummers during day; shotred; released. (Descriptin in E56 notes). Note + trape out are wood logs. ^mnn.^ Took 2 Barisio ? + an arbori under fire. (in 205-103, disc.) 6 March 1978. Low overcast. EJ-traps held jins. mouse (like CK 4619) and jirir Pescuuth (in formd). / Released hummer (blue crown & throat, green gageit, green back, straight 20-wn hill (red band 1/3, black distally). / In net, small black-blue bird w. (CK ? 4632.) refours underpants, hooked-tips drill. Walked an hour, searching logs, more clumps, but no results. Visited site of alarria curita catch last April. We prepared specimens. Rodolfo returned. Checked nets - almost 0 today, much less success than yesterday when drizzly. / In one 100' tree, saw 2 Aukasaphyrum + 4 jays). / We took in note 1 p.m. Rodolfo rode us to highway, 15 km of rough road. Nearby dry at 5000'. At garden saw a Catoploza, 2 Cathartes, swallow (Stylidopteryx?). Wasted 2 hrs. - 2 lizards found but jammed full. Got good 75% caride at Cometa Cabeeros, 1 km walk to N. Got ride in huge truck to Miranda farm, km 107, & stayed in Lomas' house as before. Had been much rain here. 7 March 1978. Out 0700. 60°F. Broken clouds. Mr. House, brown warbler w. streaked breast, chestnut crown, white superciliary line, yellow throat & crown, on ground near house. Walked trail across road to E. Saw 4 Cathartes, 1 catle egret. / At house finding log, several hooded jays & a shiny black instead. How flicker. EJ saw apparent Saltator. / About 1030, saw 2 flicker + hooded jays near house
