CKoford 1970 24 Journal 3 3 March 1978 5 Km NE Chilas co, Dpt B Verapoz, Gcate. light background, hill slightly curved, 30° mm, yellowish. / 2 nets out in ere, at former site. Set 12 ant traps in opened forest on ridge. Wildbirds. Saw swallow ~ swifts, 10°, black w/ white ventral lob, milling; mostly glid- ing & not typical swift flight. Tall clouds to W in eve. 4 Sat. 52°F? (ESK note). 8 March 1978. Clean, calm. Net on rocky slope below tree held 2 loto, probably Sterneia (CK 4626, 4627), tho none taken previous days here. Rockside net had olive green small "sparrow" w/ black & white on head, white belly, as was common at Quicci. Escaped. / Saw T mexicanus, calcaria (ESJ white collar), quietly about 2000 m. Also jaiza w/ black face, no casts, atop 100' 3 Tree. Enspid. flaviv & fulvigris too. Small peanote (go q) flew over. left light br; dark brown superil & crow CJ saw small brown woodpecker w/ white central back & top head. / We saw a laming 3 x, twice on ground: brown, w spanish tail. Saw remaining spheniscid arms, 20 mm diam.; squirrel food? Yesterday saw didelphis tools on road. Capt. small frog under moss clump on road. Saw black robin w/ yellow bill & faint eye ring; edge forest. / Took down nets & returned to house @ 900. Calm warm day. / Saw 2 black vultures near home; later, 1 turkey w. / I walked to Chilas co, 40 min., for supplies. Saw Corvidix in vicinity (Ardeota & sage "pigeon" too). / Clouds increased water left afternoon. We put up 2 nets on road NE of home & set 14 traps. Sprinkled; thunder & lightning after dark. 5 March 1978 Sunday. Election day. Drizzly morning. Traps held 2 CK+ 7630 total of the common kind (4629). Nets held 1 loto, brown w/ white club stripes, saw black robin w/ yellow bill & legs; + lil (a cola), broad, of range brown. Noted robin smaller, black feathers; yellow bill, feet, eye ring. Rain at night strong. Same trap; toads (ESJ large at CK 45 saw up? Aulicorlquaque; green, purple emission, yellow max, black maxible; same yellow post to eye. - eating 2.5 mm drain red-brown abundant fruit
