visited fish ponds. Walked 1 mile on trail. Saw black hawk w.
yellow bill & legs, but gray-black breast & belly, w. wide sub-
terminal black band on white tail (Butorvialus?) perched. Saw

antlery. | Mario and about 5 students arrived 3 p.m.; had been to the
university nearby near Cunulco. We talked & walked 1/2 hr., before he
had to leave. His knowledge of plants appeared to be poor; didn't know
any color, or the difference between the 2 pairs in the tree that graysies
fed on. But he said O.K. to collect rodents & bats at Loma's ranch.
We put up net near Luisayate; inside room upstairs.
