Now white-collared seedeater + volatinia (grays, fawnposts).
Only old oropendola nests where Eirik saw last May. 1km away
now 3 tromanes (red-rumped = arcasii ?) fly into tree near
front door. Not took Myiarchus tyrannulus, Tyrannus melancholicus.
Released fruit. Also Cathartes thrush-mimic, + Amazilia t. n. near
K.
lake gaza in net. Caught green heron in last net near shore; photoed
cue, took 2 new ants. Interesting birds in nets. Clear cool evening.
? Mycteria americana calls from yard; can't see or hear terns each eve. Swift-
now seen lake one of 5 Feb. Progress: n. swallows seen 5-6 Feb.

7 Feb. 1978. To dock at 0700. No birds in net. 3 line trogon in under
springs; no catch (porrum ?). Bird nest near house took volatinia &
(i.gallula) ballena mole +. Clear clouds but huge foggy. Nobody I saw 2
trogons (viridior) perched 10' apart in trees (20'me) nw. water.

Called out inlet to edge lake; saw (Helicornis) swimming along shore; it
crossed 40m. inlet. Saw 1 cattle egret perched tree-top. Pair large
parrots flew over. Mistletoe flycatcher near house & docks.
Not; blue or indigo bunting ♀ (released). Summer tanager ♂ (?), n.
K Colonnade, no clouds. Netted a Pitangus sulphuratus; photoed.
Later Eirik netted a Polioptila guatemalensis at edge wet brushy patch. Brown jay
(♀ 1gst. fell 1½ mm).
Netted male lola (DNA sample). During day Eirik caught few bee-eaters
on river mouth & canal. Evening – net out near dock, over water; lots
flew close to it but not caught (k. nana ?); took down 7 p.m. Clear night.
Another Attilus litigiosus netted at edge wet clouds 10' higher. Cue – set 3
small local live traps w. wet bait under bushes near small pond. 8 p.m.,
nuthatch?) tyrian nectar (sp ?)
took a 4-eyed possum (Philander ?).
8 Feb. 1978. Calm & hazy. Eirik took a Centurio woodpecker in lab net. A
large aerial woodpecker (Dryocopus lineatus ?) escaped. Also a small leaf-
