also director of zoo at Barranquilla. / F. Tiguia, found jaguar in
some stomachs. / The skin origin records "Antioquia" included many from
Choco, "Atlantico" from much surrounding area. / Near Manizales, a
jaguar taken recently. / J.H said that in central Meta about 1955, some lake
or gallery fauna, ranch owner told him they took 5-15 jaguar / yr. (could)
still save them. / The Medem jaguar, which attacked man seeking fish, taken
guayabero ?
Jan. 1959 on Rio Guavio (J.H.). J.H. said he once saw jaguar on
log dangling tail tip in water, as if fishing. He had also seen an emaciated
one on turtle on a log. Once found 3 turtle shells with positive evidence
jaguar trod there; Sirena Macarena, near pool; large mossy turtle.
J.H said domestic pig a favorite food jaguar & Cajuta, one dragged large
pig 1 1/2 km. / Medelin zoo - black jaguar from Choco. / In 1971,
at fundo Meta Grande Mr. Tupana, jaguar found dead. / Meta &
Caqueta, mainly hunting for natural jaguar. / Los Caque men recently
at Colorado said also got four fairly fresh jaguar skull there (+ 1 recently shot). /

He thought more or less cat that area would try to kill it. / Eisinger said
that he had spent about 11 days in S. Chiquiza at A. del Tro parque,
Mexico about 5 yrs. ago, & had seen many scats, feces, skeleton tracks,
and one jaguar. Last apparently had followed him to close distance,
