74 Journal 5 August 1972. Asuncion, Paraguay. Not hunting them w. dogs. (Tiger Hill S. usually used a goat for bait.) Eventually Carter turned out and invited me to come to his ranch. Also said would introduce me to manager Steve Sanchez. He had received letter from P. Bernie, who expected to arrive about Aug. 17. Apparently some oil development in NW Paraguay. C. said salt hunter in N.E. also that new menzita had decided to kill jaguars! With Phil Myers, went to small ranch on edge town & put up 3 nets near clumps grass citrus tree. Took 2 Fawnia rena, (1 spec.) 3 Bostrychia scoparia, 2 juv. thresher, 2 gratchelchen (?). By about 8 p.m., 3 lots (P.M. species.). Continued in small notebook.
