For 1972 exp export of goats winter was about 7,300. Bolivia - small store - exchange skins for goods. Later talked w/ Mr. Fellman (well?) at Maximilian Furn, nr. Plaza Hotel. Some fine goats winter coats, pun together so look like one piece w/o seams. or wool Needs about 20 skins. For October run 15, this can do with 10-12. Not manufacturing coat costs at moment. Retail sales; not export. Sells about 5 jogger coats per year. Thinker synthetic will not replace natural furs. Like others, emphasized poverty of new hunting skins, & that trade helped them. He thought only darge parks could preserve animals. Also much cattleland, & exports inside of order of wool. He thought that younger generation little interested in luxury & fine clothes, & this would diminish trade. But Germany wealthy & many fur coats thus. The journal PC/2, in German, featured stylish photos & coat ads including jogger coats. Center of trade at Frankfurt. Said many fur dresses in U.S. put out of business by labor unions. Few make but may get $ 4/day.
