12 October 1971 San Ignacio Sinaloa, Mexico
Called on J.F. "Pancho" Ferreira who lived a block north of
the parque (house no. 63), 1/2 block E. of Meliot (and Rene).
He was principal source info on jaguare in Leopold's Wildlife

pleasant house. He is in charge of truck transport for
Tayollito mine (gold, silver). Roads to mine open in Dec,
then rains, about July, close them. He was part time hunting

would be over 80 now. | Another spot was Hollanders, who "got"
large one after 10 day hunt. | Heard told some note about
Ferreira in some publ. - "American Game"? | Another "spot"
was Carpenter, now (?) president of Dupont co. / Total kill

Rosario. | Much talk about an "onza", slimmer, with larger

tigre "hunt" near Los Frailes, prominent peak NW of
road or skyline to E., in 1936 by Mr. Howard & his party. The
