Morning walk 1 hr. Two pairs Caimans about 50 yds apart,
in shallow swamp (a few rocks) edge lake. On nearby dry
gravel, group of about 15 large nightjar?, white backs on
long slow surges, as seen at Paivis. When disturbed, again landed
in grass & became almost invisible. Black throats, white belly.
Nearby group Almettas in distance, perhaps ½ mile distant.
Two Tukuratins roosted in jabiru nest tree. Glossy blue flicker

Large pigeons on ground; blue-
grey loxias w. pale arm upper dead area; 50+. At entrance
to main house, common parrot rest of rough sticks

green breasts; dark shield red, black, yellow [round].) Falcon
(aglemado? - broad under tail is white; white fore & throat w. u.
black mustache) on branch w. dead bird (Furnarium rugos?).
When I flushed it, flew with prey. Parrots screamed much

Down jalime; several blue macaws en route. Brief
visit w. Padre Pedestrista. Then 2 p.m. train to
Aguadana. There met Pe. Ricardo Fiorini (sp? ) and
others. Found that Lincoln Bonder on fogenda. Ricardo took
