CB Koford 1972 Felis on ca 20 April 1972 Tucson, Arizona Lorell Coleman told me that in Nov. 1971 a boy shot a jaguar near Nogales with a shotgun. There was an mi- vestigation, but boy allowed to keep the hide. Dale Lee tel me (21 Apr.) that he had served as a witness at hearing. Pa of jaw only patios saved in museum, U. Do tell lean cowboy type, probably in mid '60s. One of 7 brothers, of which 3 survive (Clay for rank mr. Blue Revi) Dale a hunter all life. Hunted jaguar from Serra to Argentina had read S. Siemel's "Tigiers," but not Leopold's 1959 sect. Lee Bros. participated in kill of 124 jaguars; Dale was pre for nearly all of them. Several hunting - usually taken deer for two weeks. Call with drum from 11 p.m. on, mostly about 2 a.m. Both sexes answer and come, but men do not answer call. Some came to within a few yards of Dale (one in British Honduras to 10 steps). Can't tell sex or ag lay cell; local hunter thought they could, but lie'll usually proved them wrong. If calling gets no response, take bow in big circle to find track. Calling got poor response in Venezuela, Colombia. Osswell w. saw how to amplify; meet Montambu (sp?), Nicaragua, came to within 5 y dale in answer. Dale does not shoot at night with b. Photos - he had prints, but most lost - I saw many others in possession of Ferreir at San Ignacio. One shows 4 o' and 2 jaguars after Mayant hunt. Marks and coat - In Mex
