Lorell Coleman told me that in Nov. 1971 a boy shot a
jaguar near Nogales with a shotgun. There was an mi-

me (21 Apr.) that he had served as a witness at hearing. Pa

Interviewed Dale Lee, now with game mgmt. unit here. Do
tell lean cowboy type, probably in mid '60s. One of 7
brothers, of which 3 survive (Clay for rank mr. Blue Revi)
Dale a hunter all life. Hunted jaguar from Serra to Argentina
had read S. Siemel's "Tigiers," but not Leopold's 1959 sect.
Lee Bros. participated in kill of 124 jaguars; Dale was pre
for nearly all of them. Several hunting - usually taken deer
for two weeks. Call with drum from 11 p.m. on, mostly
about 2 a.m. Both sexes answer and come, but men
do not answer call. Some came to within a few yards
of Dale (one in British Honduras to 10 steps). Can't tell sex or ag
lay cell; local hunter thought they could, but lie'll usually
proved them wrong. If calling gets no response, take bow
in big circle to find track. Calling got poor response in
Venezuela, Colombia. Osswell w. saw how to amplify;
meet Montambu (sp?), Nicaragua, came to within 5 y
dale in answer. Dale does not shoot at night with b.
Photos - he had prints, but most lost - I saw many others
in possession of Ferreir at San Ignacio. One shows 4 o'
and 2 jaguars after Mayant hunt. Marks and coat - In Mex
