Colobus abyss
2 September 1965. Lake Albert, to Toro, Uganda
mate groups (6 max.), including 2-3 in rock talus.
Trees only 30' tall but good shade cover. Vervets also
seen in same area. No white rifs. seen.
28 August 1965. About 6:45 p.m., 1 ad. ♂ 100 yds. W. of road
Kibali Forest S. Kagera SM

about 50 yds. Then mv. mi. 1.0, 5 ad. (1 at ♂) and 1
at redtail edge group. | 7:15 p.m., next to road camp (mi.1.7),
6 (incl. 2 black rifs.), still active in bushes.

4 September 1965, about 5 p.m., 100 yds. E. of K-6 sign, in
2 compound leaved tree 60' tall, 10. Included 7 ad., 2
juvs., 1 one black rif. Fed small fruits & leaves. One
(Colobus)
mangabey sat quietly in group, others within 3' of it at
X. Returned 1810 and in same tree saw 6+ mangabey.
about 1800, foot of Pritham's road, 10 rivl. 2 ot juvs,
and no rifs. Rain started,
29 August 1965. 6 p.m., rain. On road mi. 0.9, 6 w.
2 mangabeys 100' distant, sitting in rain. One ate com-
plete leaf. Colobus walked within 3' mangabey but no
reactions observed.
30 August 1965. 11 a.m., mv. mi. 0.9, 6 w., 1 redtail in
same tree. Once a Col. walked 3' past redtail, but no
overt reactions seen. Col. ate green leaves about 6'
from ground (in 60' privately compound lived tree). At
least 2 are ♂♂.
5 September 1965. Mv. mi. 5.7 in evening in forest,
1 with group redtails (or at edge) in trees. | At about
mi. 2.0, a group of 5 ados.- all ♂♂!
