Koford, CB 4 Colobus abyssinicus nr Ft Portal, Uganda. 28 August 1965 Kibale Forest, nr Kagoro saw Mill, in trees nearer, within 50 yds. /1135, foot Bridhan's road, 8 in 80' mod. foliaged tree. Can almost always see in this area a cross road to E. 29 August 1965. 0900, across road from Bridhan's turnoff; Xobs. (1α+α), 4 1 Mergulay within 20 yds. closest. /0925, dry road about .3 mi. S. of Bridhans jet, ad. .07 called- alove. Thrusty low settling, about 4 "notes" per sec. 5-6 grating sounds in series; higher than lower two - perhaps middle G or scale. Oft start + end with a "chuck" or cough," giving bird jule then. The lo-sol effect may be from change position chub or lips w. continuous vibrating. sound. First time we seen as called. Mouth opens for call. /0950, mi. 1.9 on road, 5 obs. in trees. At least 2 αα, one wik hairs in tail; 4 gr. β. (A blue mackay in area too.) Semliki Plain's 1-3 September 1965. Toro Game Pres., nr. Waso Camp In evening + morning, saw a herd within ¼ mile upstream from camp. In morning saw 6 ± in one tree, & 3 in another about ¼ mile distant. / Bridhan said that Buschner saw from his camp, on W. side of road on the rivine forest, downstream from iron bridge. / About noon of Sept. 3, from gt. nr. the safari lodge, I saw 4 gps. 3 to 6 and head calls from 5th area. These along rivine forest, & visible step trees from a few hundred yards. Gooder for study pos. & peripheral contacts. 2 September 1965. Fishing along shore of Lake Albert at extreme SE shore, near Escarpment + falls, I saw 2 seps.
