C. Koford Pan paniscus 10 October 1965 Kibale Forest, Toro Uganda In area of Dura River bridge or road 6. of Kigarama, Mr. Pigodi, twice heard yelps + screams apparently of chimp. Closed 90' forest, origin, no setting. 12 October 1965. Rain midday; then status clause. 1715, 1.45 W. on Samuel road, 100 ft. from road in 20' dead tree partly covered w. vines, 2 ads. + inf. Also moist ground, & call from forest, so apparently at least 5. (a few min. before in sight, I heard scold barks from vicinity & thought it was Papio.) I stood in open 100 yds. away. Biggest (prob. 07) boybird, ate cordate leaves of vine [Venture] (lvs. 12 cm diam.; pink-purple flowers.) Log truck passed on road; inf. to 4, which held it to old, & soon she descended, while
