[= mi. 1.3]
Turnoff of main rd. S. from Kagena samuel, adult, about 30' ups.
Photod jump (b4u). | About 4:30p.m., in record forest patch (about
1 1/2 mi.) E. of Kangawana Forest Sta., saw gp. of 5 in dark tall forest,
about 40'ups. Later, about 5-6 p.m., saw gp. of about 7 in dark
forest about 300yds inside first forest patch to E. of Forest Station.
Twice saw one adult grooming another. Once saw two about 10'
apart eating leaves. Leaves about 6" ( ), apparently slightly
pulverulent, of 20 ft. tree nr. flowers just terminal, m. white. They
folded leaf & ate at underside edge, or ate at flat part & pulled out
preier leaf leaving the big veins. Blue groups seem diffuse
compared to Colobus, & perhaps smaller. I saw an ad. alone
in crown tall tree over road, inactive at 6:30 p.m. Many tall
umbrella-topped trees, as if forest nearly mature. Little sign
of truck traffic.
