Kibale Forest, Toro, Uganda.
thick leaf; terminal one red. Some had muddy post. thighs + hind-legs. 1130, still 15 at site when first seen. Bright overcast.
1140, at least 2 ups. w. black crown; one of these ts1 from ad.-One subad. on low flexible branch; hand over bond, hanging to long-tip twig. They hung lay one hand a few sec. & drop-ped straight to ground. At least twice saw an ad. groom another; about same manner as others. Twice now saw one climb up branches from swamps carrying long green Typiba? leaf in mouth, bond end chewed broken. Ad. gv. 2 w.inf. One in small Merlokonia ate green leaf. 1200, still 20+ in original area W.of swamps. One had bulky abd. as if pregnant. Another is Typba leaf. Seen to eat at least 6 kinds foods so far; much more variety than C.alrys. 1207, still 6 at within 10' ground over dense tangle herbage by swamps. Two were climb-up bushes carrying Typba leaf. 1230, still counted 20+ spread 100 yds. nr. O.8 W. Showers commenced. Some moves begin, as if in response. One plucked leaf of compound-leafed tree (20' leglets), ate at base petiole, & dropped; repeated. (Never saw C.alrys. eat this tree). Little most about in rain; a few sat & other set bunches forward in rain. Now below 20' now. Rain continued. / 1310, 7 25-46' up on big tree; most bend-ad forward & quietly settling; some ate. Shower still. / Rain to 3pm.
Cleared much afterwards. H:20, A:1E. 300 yds. 2 at 0.85 W, 6 at Ostill, near road. One gv.another lying prone facing away; then groomed raised hindquarter & gv. cast. >>
3 or in 15' Trema trees. Smaller approx. Large on branch, turns & crouched w. arms toward larger & tail up, then away (present?)
