20 September 1965. Kilale Forest, Toro, Uganda
some very small, other fairly large - so apparently a limited
breeding season! At least 12 wns ads.+juv., so 25+ total+
12 infants. Bands larger than of C. olivescens. /0955, still
some in same thicket, 25' up, W of 1.17. /1950, at N edge of
tea field about 200 yds. NE of Ribian's house, in 90' bare-
appearing fine branched tree (tiny new foliage) 200yds. from
foot tea field, at sharp edge of some tall forest, S.t., northly
m. top, + actively feeding & jumping about.
21 September 1965. These still there next morning before sun
rise, 0650, at least 6 in one banish tree. At 0830, at least
8 there including juv., and 2 mangabeys below the C.b.
(The latter stripped bark.). 0845 I walked thru tea toward tree,
+ a few at a time monkeys jumped to heavily foliaged adjacent
tree or descended down in same tree, to foliage area. Allowed
approach to about 30 yds. bare tree (photos), when 90'ups. Banish

tree perhaps girdled & dying. /1800, mi. 1.9 to E., 10+ (20?) in
mod. foliage tree + low appearing (tiny new green) tree. Latter 60', +6't-in
top (silhouette photos). Eat tiny foliage. B&W babbill landed in tree with
monkeys; no interaction. No mips. noted (poor light).
23 September 1965. In forest lawn at NE corner Ribian's estate,
10+ mths/fuv. 5+ C. olives. scrambling thru lowrd tree, prob. alarm-
ed by me. /0810, some gys., 2 at, in tops/100' mod. foliaged tree (4"
cutty?
leaves, D-shaped), with inf.+juv. This 100 yds. from previous tree, 200
from where large gp. seen in ave at edge forest (prob. some gys.). Eat
leaves or petioles. Two went thru trees + sat 100yds. N. of others.
1735, after rain showers, 16 in one near tree (five new leaves) tall
