Koford, <13 Cercopithecus ascanius (redtail) Cercopithecus nictitans (ascanius ?) 21 August 1965 Kibale Forest, 7 mi. E. Ft. Portal, Uganda. First saw in wild in tree around tea field of Wm. Bridham (Kigami Estates) in spars- foliage tree, in area of Colobus al. [= 0.2] foot Koga Samuel 22 August 1965. Mr. Km. 6 am food, saw 7 in tree with 10+ colobus alys. Nictitantis seen; at edge & within loose group. Three together on one low (20' up branch), one lying sprawled w. belly up, being groomed. Three lower in tree than colobus al. usually ? || Mr. Food food camp saw one apparently alone, about to 11 a.m. || 1030, about 500 m. E. of Bridham house, 4 about 30' up 60' tree, about 50 yds. from edge tea field. | Rain 4 p.m. 6 p.m., after rain, from our home at front sto. saw 2+ in thick foliage tree 200 yds. N. Leap about 15' out + 10' down to land on spreading flexible branch. Lived in succession leaped to about same branch. | Wm. Bridham brought one he shot eating his "mealies." 4.0 kg. 117 t.l.-715 tail-145 hf, spec. 3000 36 car. 07, prob. red. Tertia 25 x 20 mm.; no apparent semen in sand brown skull. cut t. or epid. Toes 10+ metacarp to 25 mm. from dust + slum. 23 August 1965. 0832, km. 6 port 2 in tree to E. of sto. 14 mi. NE of Bridham House, 24 August 1965. 10:00, under one of Bridham's jet, 07 subadult ? [Celtis?] alone in 70' tree, eating foliage. Leaves 4" D. 30' ups. || 230, area of Elephant Catel Bath, 2 adults 50' up in tree w. yellow flowers, in rain, apparently feeding (W. of road). | About 5:30 p.m. in forest just E. of Kanyawara, saw one in dark forest near land of Colobus alyssineus. 27 August 1965. 5:30 p.m., 5/10 am east after rain, 7+ in 30' tree w. red. foliage at jet. Kalitoli & Koga Samuel road (same as one saw evening at ranger station ?) | 5:45 400 yds. E of K6 sign)
