December 16, 1956 Barro Colorado ls, C. Z.
seen nr. Chapman House and seem to eat central part inside
something thin. Few flowers fully mature perhaps because of
suck feeding.
December 22, 1956. Unusually frequent along TB from
5 to 10, in trees & palms, often calling.
January 2, 1957 In early evening one seen going from flower to flow
er in Bolsa tree S. of Chapman House.
January 5, 1957. At least 4 seen near WMW 3. At least 3
or AVA near JZ O. One of these without tail but jumped
about mildly.
22 January 1957. Two at 4:30 p.m. in almendros at point SE
of boat dock, apparently eating almonds nuts.
23 January 1957. Two in almendro NW of Kitchen appar-
ently feeding on fresh crop almonds nuts. AA Nasua also
high among branches.
26 January 1957 Three about 2 p.m. feeding on fresh almonds
fruits in tree 100' NW of Kitchen.
1 February 1957 A few in almendros near Lab in morning &
evening apparently scraping surface flesh off nuts.
16 February 1957 About 4 p.m. I saw two in Bolsa next
to Chapman House. They went from flower to flower, appar-
ently eating or drinking something from within.
5 March 1957 Have seen in bolsa or almendros near
buildings in last week a 2. Almendros nuts all
gone & Bolsa seeding & foliage scraggly.
20 March April 1957. About 5 in Ceropia SE of JZ48ddy, in
mid-afternoon. No young seen yet this year.
