5 Macaca fuscata 14 July 1965 Kusodomari, Shimokita, Japan 1520, shock in K. canyon, 9 monkeys plus 3 inf.; 1 one ad. ? still w/o inf. (1 mm. white spot R cheek; scratch R nipple; mod. age); she lost yr. ? (crown melted) which seemed to try to suck, + she pushed it away; saw (Somet. fed alongs. adult ?) sewl x. ? loudly stated ant. crown melt. | Apparently oldest ad. ?, w. inf.; slight melt crown + new patch lower (+ 2 small punctures), thin fur chest, R ear Enotch. | Adyrl, w. both 1/2 melted, held and handled inf. / a ? 3-4, back 8/10 melted, with crest on crown. | adult ?, back melt 9/10. / ? w. or inf., melted crown, forearms, + sacral. / ? w. inf., crown melt just started. / ? 3 (?) yrs, back 8/10 melted; ss. above isd. coll. bright pink. | One ? had inf. + yel. with her. / ? w. rgt. ? inf., crown melt just started. / Yrl. ? w. crown melted. / Inf. climbed on back of 3 (?) yr. old & rode it as if willingly. / About 12 seen at once, incl. only 1 ad. ? and 5 ad. ? ?. ?? left a few at a time, walking up(?) slope to N. of stream. at 4:49, rather dark in shade of Thujaopsis in canyon bottom; ? remaining incl. ? w. inf. + 2 (?) yr. old, her crown + forearms melted; incl. 3 yrs. + younger one feeding in loger, the peanuts prob. exhausted. I left & returned 5:15; all gone, but heard me call on slope to N. / Trees: some Cryptomeria, prob. planted. Hippocastanum w. ? fruits on stalks [illegible]; seed tree thus. Elderberry bushes w. 2-3 mm. red berries, canyon bottom. Juglans (?) , foot-long hanging strings seeds (?); comp. leaf. 15 July 1965 Been after midnight; no markings at feeding area by 7 a.m. Left; re- turned 4:15; none, but came about 5:10. By 5:30 at least 10, incl. 3 ad. ? ?. | See Journal 15 July. 16 July 1965. Head night, + 7 a.m (sec Journal). Left; returned 1510 + withed group. All 4 inf.s played together in groups. Identified
